GRAPE STOMPING.

Last week, while driving to work and listening to my famous AM radio station, I heard an interview with the owner of Carmela Vineyards in Glenns Ferry.  He talked about the upcoming Harvest Festival and 9th Annual Grape Stomp happening at his vineyard that weekend!  I immediately knew I had just found my next adventure!  I talked Jessie into going grape stomping with me and when Mom and Dad heard about my plans, they decided to come along as well!  Dad said, "This sounds like too good of an adventure to pass up!"  He was right!

THREE ISLAND CROSSING STATE PARK.

CONESTOGA WAGONS.

Three Islands Crossing, which is located right next to Carmela Vineyards, is a HUGE Oregon Trail Historical site.  I'm not much of a fan of Oregon Trail history and I absolutely HATE museums!  However, despite my objections, we toured the museum located in the park anyway. Don't worry, though, I did my best to ignore all historical information and easily found other entertainment!

HOW YOU DOIN'?

EMBARRASSING MY PARENTS:  JUST ONE MORE SERVICE I OFFER!

BRUNEAU DUNES STATE PARK.

We were also within a few short miles of Bruneau Sand Dunes.  Since we had already paid our State Park Fee for the day, we decided to swing in to the dunes for a quick visit!

ME ROLLING DOWN A DUNE!

AND HERE GOES KIPPER!

THE SAND WAS SO HOT IT BURNED MY FEET!
AND JUST FOR THE RECORD, IT TOOK ME TWO VERY LONG SHOWERS TO GET RID OF ALL THAT SAND!  BUT IT WAS SO WORTH IT!  ")

Howdy! A really awesome road trip. Uncle Dennis' ancestors were on the 1848 Oregon Trail Three Mile Island Crossing that settled in Eagle Point, Oregon.
