THE RIVER.

Yesterday, after a quick shopping trip, Abby and I came home, grabbed the dogs and headed to the RIVER!  Jackson and Sadie have been getting left behind alot this summer so they were definitely due for an outing!  Although a ride in the truck is usually an adventure in itself (for both dogs and driver) a special Doggie Destination was even more of a treat!  We found a nice secluded spot on the Boise and spent some time enjoying the water, the heat and the river's delightful atmosphere!  

WE CERTAINLY LOVE OUR LAZY SUMMER AFTERNOONS!

What's that you ask?  WHY is my dog wearing a . . . 

LIFEJACKET???

  

Apparently, in his old age, Jackson has become quite the water dog.

  

He spends his time at the river "hunting" for things in the water and will often bail off or, because he is a CLUMSY OAF,  fall into the water after whatever it is he has spotted!  He would much prefer to go in after a feisty fish but since I am an avid Non-Fisherman (and therefore can't bring the fish to directly do him), he has to make do with "fish sticks" and "rock bass" being conveniently splashed into the water out in front of him.

  

Although Jackson is more than willing to bail off the bank, he is a 

TERRIBLE SWIMMER!

Somehow his back end actually floats and then passes him!

So, after a few scary incidents, there is now an actual doggie law that requires the old man to wear a lifejacket whenever he's around water.  Although he should be embarrassed to wear such a contraption, he actually wears it with pride!  He thinks it makes him look like a

 SUPER HERO!
