NO BUSINESS LOOKOUT.

A trip to No Business Lookout was an absolute MUST this year! I'll admit we waited until nearly the last possible minute to head to the top of the mountain but fortunately we did make it! Our reason for NEEDING to visit this particular lookout? Long-time family friends, Marc and Karen Stringer were the lookouts assigned to No Business! It is no secret that I am passionate about fire lookouts and frequently choose them as adventure destinations. It is, however, a deep dark secret that I would LOVE to spend a summer on a lookout myself! Visiting Marc on No Business was not only a chance to get a good look inside the lookout itself, it was also a chance to live vicariously through him! He gave us a great tour, told us some hilarious stories and even invited us to STAY THE NIGHT! Unfortunately we weren't able to take him up on his offer but we promised that should he be sitting in a lookout next year, we would be there--particularly on the night of a great big electrical storm! As I mentioned, I have visited many lookouts but actually been in very few. Touring No Business was truly a treat for me!

NO BUSINESS IS A TWO STORY LOOKOUT. THIS IS THE OBSERVATION DECK/SLEEPING QUARTERS. THE KITCHEN AND AN ADDITIONAL BED ARE LOCATED ON THE BOTTOM FLOOR.

MOM, DAD AND I WERE ALL THRILLED TO HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO BE IN THE LOOKOUT ITSELF!

AH, YES. HARD AT WORK ON THE ADMISSIONS LINE!

FORTUNATELY FOR ME THERE IS CELL COVERAGE ON NO BUSINESS!

BUT WE ALREADY KNEW THAT! MANY YEARS AGO NO BUSINESS WAS THE SITE OF ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITE ADVENTURES! LET'S JUST SAY IT INVOLVED A BLOWN TIRE AND NO SPARE! THANK GOODNESS FOR CELL COVERAGE--OR WE MIGHT STILL BE STRANDED THERE!
