As I mentioned in an earlier post, my Mom traditionally makes donuts for Halloween and this year was no exception! I was fortunate enough to be spending Halloween with my family this year and was anxious to document the donut making process. Back in HIGH SCHOOL my mom's family would make fall donuts and often invited my dad to partake in the festivities. Since they quickly became sweethearts, I am convinced there is something pretty special about this tradition--or it might just be in the donuts themselves! YUMMY!
As I mentioned, I was really determined to photograph the entire donut making process.
And I started out strong . . . well, okay so I took the FOUR pictures posted above before . . .
collapsing from exhaustion into a much need NAP!
note to self: get more than THREE hours of sleep the night before shooting a donut documentary!
oh, the life of a bachelorette!
at least I didn't fall asleep with part of my Halloween costume on!
So, since I was snoozing on the sofa, Mom was kind enough to shoot the documentary FOR ME! She said she had quite an interesting time taking photos and cooking at the same time!
THANK YOU MOMMY!
DON'T FORGET DAD'S FAVORITES--AUTHENTIC DONUT HOLES!
Dad and I were in Krispy Kreme last week and they were making donut holes.
Dad went to watch the process but came SO disappointed they weren't made from the ACTUAL dough from the middle of the donuts! You can bet Mom's are the real deal!
SO DELICIOUS!
SHE SPRINKLES SUGAR ON SOME . . .
IT IS ALSO TRADITION AT THE GORDON'S TO LICK THE FROSTING BEATERS!
SHE ACTUALLY HAD TO WAKE US UP FOR THIS PART!
I WAS INSTANTLY TRANSPORTED BACK TO MY CHILDHOOD.
I WANT TO INHERT THESE BEATERS!
MY MOM SPOILS US ROTTEN!
I AM CRAZY ABOUT HER!
(and i really, really love that she is determined to keep our special traditions alive).
