KENNY!

I am so super blessed to have such wonderful ladies in my life--and better yet to be related to them! When we heard that (oh be still my beating heart) Kenny Chesney would be coming to Boise in July, we instantly declared a GIRLS NIGHT OUT! Mom, Aunt Jan, Aunt Dee, cousin Jessie and I all "volunteered" to see Kenny and Lady Antebellum play the Sun City Tour at Taco Bell Arena! What a fun night with, as I mentioned, some really awesome ladies--and some really HOT cowboys!
YEEHAW!

There was simply NO EXCUSE for missing THIS MAN play his GUITAR!

BOOTS DEFINITELY REQUIRED!

LADY ANTEBELLUM OPENED
(and I officially LOVE them now!)

AND THEN MIRANDA LAMPERT CAME OUT AND ROCKED A PINK GUITAR
(but she was frankly a bit SCARY!)

AND FINALLY MR. HOTTY POTTOTY HIMSELF!
HE DID TWO PRETTY WONDERFUL THINGS . . .

FIRST HE DONNED A BOISE STATE BALL CAP . . .

AND SECOND . . . HE GOT NICE AND SWEATY!

I think he sang some of my favorite songs too, but I can't seem to remember which ones they were. Now that I think about it, I can't remember him singing at all. But he must have. Right?

I SURE DO LOVE MY MOM!

OH--ONE MORE THING I FORGOT TO MENTION . . .

I GOT LEIED AT THE KENNY CHESNEY CONCERT! ;o)

GARRET McFERRET.

Last July . . . (yes I'm STILL waaaay back in JULY) my sister asked if I would be willing to watch Garrett and Claire (#2 and #3) for an afternoon so she and #1 (Makayla) could have some much needed Mommy/Daughter time. As an auntie who firmly abides by ALL the Super-Duper Wonderful Aunt Rules, I gleefully agreed! I don't know if you are aware, but Super-Duper Wonderful Aunts MUST say YES to all requests presented to them--despite the fact that agreeing to said requests may if fact jeopardize their sanity! This, however, was not a sanity threatening request and I was truly thrilled to spend some time with #2 and #3. I had an absolute blast with the two of them! Garrett has such a sweet, loving spirit and was so good about looking after his little sister. As for Claire, she is a riot! She too is unbelievably loving and accepting but it is her sense of humor that I simply adore! After spending a delightful afternoon playing together, Mr. Garrett decided that he might like to stay overnight! What a treat for me to spend some alone time with him--and what adventures we had!

I took Garrett and Claire to an indoor play center in Boise called Rafiki's!
It ended up being a terrific place to spend a rainy morning!

One of my favorite parts of Rafiki's was just watching the kids entertain themselves.
Garrett was pretty busy on the climbing wall . . .

especially once the little LADY showed up!

IT IS HARD WORK TRYING TO IMPRESS GIRLS! :)

Even though Garrett was a bit too old for the play center, he was such a good sport about being there! He spend most of his time drawing and creating. Such imagination!

Once Aunt Tess was thoroughly bored, the kids suggested we find some PIZZA!

Garrett was so hungry he ate TWO pieces of pizza at a time!

Meanwhile Claire, who is always interested in my cameras, preferred to SAY CHEESE rather than EAT it!

Still packing it away . . .

and still NOT!

I am horrified when I see these pictures and realize how YOUNG Claire looks!
I SIMPLY MUST GET MY BLOG CAUGHT UP!
EEK!

Soon after pizza, Garrett and I headed home to slumber party!
Here he is playing his Slide Whistle while wearing his Super-Secret Spy glasses!

We stopped on the way home to purchase a new ball.
Garrett was quick to remind me that ones I already had were looking a bit puny.
And, of course, none of them had SPONGE BOB on them!

However, we didn't play much with the ball. We were more entertained with the PLUMS from my tree. These plums are absolutely the most disgusting things but Garrett, aka Survivor Man, thought they were delicious! In fact, he kept sneaking out of the house to pick and EAT them! I had to tell him of horrible digestive complications to get him to finally stop eating them!

After Garrett left, I discovered these notes he had written!
They are wonderful! First off, he wrote a To-Do List! I could not be more proud!
Second, near the top of his list of "thing to be when he grows up". . .
PHOTOGRAPHER! I got a little tear in my eye!
Third, he drew me with GO-GO GADGET NINJA HANDS! Yeah!!!

The next morning, per Garrett's request, I made pancakes.
Let me say that again, I MADE PANCAKES!
This is a big deal for me considering I simply do not cook!
They certainly weren't anything spectacular but most importantly, they weren't BLACK!
Garrett had no idea of the magnitude of the miracle he witnessed! He just sat there, watching his cartoons, acting like somebody cooks for him everyday. Sheesh!

After breakfast we dug through my arts and craft tub and decided to make pipe cleaner animals. Garrett is such a creative little stink! He made some really amazing animals!

I only managed to eek out these three creations in the same amount of time he created an entire army! What an imagination! I can't wait to see what he actually grows up to be!

MY FAVORITE GARRETT B. MASTERPIECE!

I LOVE BEING AN AUNT!
and i love my garrett mcferrett!
